Reviews and Ratings
I stayed at the hotel along Via Menendez, which had its positives like a great location in downtown Saint Augustine but also some drawbacks such as the absence of a tub in the room. The hotel rooms had a slight smell of cigarette smoke, and I was surprised to be charged for parking my car.
The hotel rooms had an authentic Spanish charm with cozy views of the Bay, but the lack of adequate locks on the outside pool doors was a concern. Despite not being ready upon our arrival, the service was friendly and accommodating. The location was terrific, close to many attractions in historic St Augustine, and the dining experience had its ups and downs.
I couldn't have asked for a better stay at this hotel! The rooms were spacious and seemed newly renovated, complete with blackout shades that made my nights peaceful during the lively Nights of Lights event. The costs may be a bit high, but they are completely justified by the excellent condition of the room and the hotel, the top-notch quality of the staff, and the unbeatable location right in the heart of all the action in St Augustine. However, being backed up to a street at the back of the hotel could be a minor inconvenience.
